cTrader cBot setup

Set up a cBot and make the first cTrader test comparable

A cBot can appear attached while the wrong instance, preset, symbol or execution mode is active.

1. Match the cBot and build

Record the cTrader Store product, release/build, manual and preset. ExpertCodeFX cBots are separate from our MT5 EAs.

2. Use a separate test instance

Confirm the account, symbol, timeframe and instance name before changing settings. A filename does not prove the effective parameters.

3. Read the parameters

Check volume or risk fields, stops, targets, sessions, spread gates and symbol-specific options after loading a preset.

4. Choose local or Cloud deliberately

Confirm the execution environment, data coverage and cost or commission assumptions. Local and Cloud runs can differ.

5. Read the report and log

Keep the completed backtest, trade list, equity drawdown, trade count, costs and cBot log. Separate no signal from rejected orders.

6. Treat Store statistics carefully

Public rolling statistics are context, not a matched-period test of your broker, symbol or instance. Reproduce the setup before drawing conclusions.

Use the same evidence standard

Save the product/build, instance, account type, symbol, timeframe, dates, capital, parameters, execution mode, report and log.
